Fundraise for MSF
We know that as well as your event or challenge, that fundraising can be difficult. With that in mind, we've put together some MSF downloadable resources to help you on your way.
All are designed to help you explain why supporting our work is so important.
If you haven't done already, it's worth checking out our easy to follow fundraising guide for tips on making the most of your fundraising campaign.

Online Fundraising Platform - iDonate
We would recommend using the fundraising platform iDonate for many sorts of events. Setting up an iDonate page is quick and easy! The funds come directly to MSF, and unlike most competitors, iDonate does not charge a service fee, solely banking charges. Additionally, the iDonate support team are very responsive and while issues are rare, they are happy to support fundraisers in any way that you need.
Setting up an iDonate page:
- Go to idonate.ie and click "start now" to create a fundraising page for a charity. You will need to create an iDonate account so you can log back in at any time and check your progress.
- Select MSF Ireland as the chosen charity to fundraise for.
- Choose a target for the amount you would like to fundraise (this can be increased later on, so better to start low and raise as donations start to come in).
- After this your fundraising page should be set up and you can add a fundraising title, description of your fundraiser, page picture and whatever else you would like to include.
Helpful tips:
After you have created this page, you can generate a QR code and other links to share the event on social media or through messaging platforms. On this page there will be a "donate" button for supporters to donate by card securely online. You could also utilise the iDonate app (depending on how tech-savy you are), this allows supporters to donate by contactless payment to your fundraiser if you plan on holding an in-person event where you will be taking donations.
The funds raised will be directly transferred to MSF Ireland's bank account after the fundraiser has been closed.
Promoting your fundraiser on social media
Regarding promoting the event on our own channels, unfortunately we are solely able to use our social media platforms to communicate about the work we do on the ground. However, if you have a poster or promotion on your own social media channels we will be able to share these in our stories so just tag us or advise if there is a post you’d like us to share.
